At EGD Services Ltd, we take health and safety extremely seriously – you have to in the tree surgery industry. Each job needs to be planned, thought about and all the risks need to be assessed which is why we carry out a risk assessment and team brief at arrival of each site every day.
Compliance with today’s health and safety practice is essential; thorough site-specific risk assessments and structured method statements guide the more complex work. All our staff are fully qualified with the National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) and are City & Guild qualified. EGD Services are accredited with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Copies of our full Health and Safety Policy and insurance provision are available on request.
We carry £5m of Public and Employer’s Liability Insurance. Our vehicles and equipment are checked regularly according to health and safety regulations.
Working with trees can be complex and dangerous. To undertake these tasks we use ropes, harnesses and other related equipment so we can carefully control the decent of branches and timber. This equipment must be regularly inspected and records are kept conforming with the HSE ‘Lifting Operations and Lifting equipment Regulations 1998’ (LOLER) and with the ‘Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). Ours is always up to date and we use the latest techniques and equipment to make sure we undertake the work the safest as well most efficient way.
All staff are trained, qualified and hold relevant NPTC certificates. Our specialist team members are fully qualified and there is always a trained First Aider on every site.

All our machinery and equipment is regularly updated and therefore, as safe and compliant as possible.
At E.G.D. Services Ltd we carry a large selection of saws, headge cutters, long reach pruning saws, blowers and strimmers.
In addition to this equipment, we have a fleet of 3 Mercedes Unimogs, an all-terrain quad bike and a 6′ tow along chipper. These enable us to provide you with a wide range of tree surgery services.
We are licensed to carry waste by the Environment Agency.
