EGD Services Ltd - Preserving Fairbourne Lake Reserve

At EGD Services Ltd, we take pride in our commitment to preserving and enhancing natural habitats like the picturesque Fairbourne Lake Reserve. Nestled in the tranquil Test Valley just north of Romsey, Fairbourne Lake is a gem blessed with a spring-fed stream that through the moor that feeds into Fairbourne lake before eventually ending up in the River Test.

Our involvement in this ongoing project is driven by a singular focus - to maintain a stable habitat for the diverse wildlife that relies on the lake, stream, and surrounding wooded areas. When we first arrived at Fairbourne Lake, we were met with a scene of overgrown reeds and fallen trees obstructing the water's natural flow.

Through dedicated efforts, we have cleared select areas of reeds, providing larger waterfowl such as geese and swans with increased space to land and nest. Removal of fallen trees has not only improved the aesthetics of the area but also safeguarded the natural habitat for the resident wildlife.

By creating well-defined paths around the lake and along the chalk stream, we have not only enhanced accessibility for visitors but also provided convenient routes for deer to traverse. Additionally, we take great pride in the crafting of a beautiful shepherd's hut, offering visitors a comfortable space to immerse themselves in the stunning natural surroundings of Fairbourne Lake Reserve.

Our work at Fairbourne Lake stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to conservation and our mission to create a space where both wildlife and visitors can coexist harmoniously. EGD Services Ltd remains steadfast in our commitment to environmental stewardship and the preservation of natural beauty for generations to come.
