we are passionate about minimizing waste and maximizing the value of our wood materials. We hate waste, which is why we strive to create useful products out of our excess materials. Firmly ingrained into our family’s work ethic, we believe that waste can one way or another be transformed into a useful product to extend the value of all that the we do.
One way we achieve this is by using wood chips for paths and mulch. Instead of discarding them, we repurpose them to create practical and eco-friendly solutions for landscaping and gardening. Our wood chips provide effective pathways and act as natural mulch, enhancing the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces, in an environmentally friendly way.
Furthermore, we turn our leftover wood into firewood, ensuring that no timber goes to waste. This sustainable approach allows us to provide our customers with quality firewood, perfect for cosy nights by the fireplace or outdoor gatherings around a bonfire.
Additionally, we offer sawn timber cut to order, allowing our customers to get exactly what they need for their projects. By repurposing our excess timber, we eliminate waste and provide a custom-made solution for various construction and woodworking endeavours.
For the artisans and craft enthusiasts, we also have wood turning blanks available. These blanks are ideal for creating beautifully crafted wooden objects, such as bowls, vases, and other artistic pieces. By utilising our wood waste we make these unique materials accessible to those who appreciate the art of woodturning.

Firewood
At EGD SERVICES LTD, we offer high-quality firewood sold in bulk bags that hold 1m3 of wood. Our firewood is delivered within a 20-mile radius and is stored in a barn to ensure it remains well-seasoned. The logs are approximately 250mm in length, making them perfect for most fireplaces and wood-burning stoves. The price for a bag of firewood is £95.00, and we offer a convenient cash-on-delivery option. Upon delivery, customers have the choice of having the bag emptied on-site or leaving it in the vented bag, which incurs a small charge of £7.50 (that can be refunded upon the return of one of our bags). With our firewood, customers can enjoy a cosy and warm atmosphere during the colder months.
Wood Turning Blanks
At EGD SERVICES LTD we never want to waste anything that could be turned into something beautiful. We try to save interesting burrs and unusual rare species, of adequate size, blank or gnarly unions with interesting grain patterns, contact us, we may have that blank you are after.
Woodchip
We offer bulk delivery up to 10m3 per load. Woodchip is a most useful by-product of our work and can be put to use in several ways;
Paths - wood chip can be used for paths ways in gardens and green spaces to tidy up heavily trafficked areas and improve traction under foot or light vehicle traffic.
Weed suppression- mature wood chip is recommended for natural weed suppression a certain level of decomposition is required to take place before applying to planted areas and the first stages of decomposition will remove nitrates from soil.
Over mature wood chip is an excellent natural soil conditioner and can bring most soil makeups to a more neutral state.

Wood Structures & Furniture
We also have experience in making one-off pieces of furniture like garden benches, bothys and pergolas. Though usually commissioned, we may show pieces for sale from time to time, always original and unique. We have also created structures like shepherd huts, out-buildings and decks from timber in the round.
Sawn Timber
We can also offer sawn green timber (along with sawmill services for your timber found here). We can often sawn timbers from a variety of different species, from a log on our timber stack or re-sawn from stored slabs, if in stock, perfect if you are on the hunt for a characterful peace of timber for a project or desire a specific species for wood working. Ideal for crafting one off furniture pieces or chunky wooden accents to your home DIY projects. The limit is only imagination. We can also offer planned sides up to 10” width.
Sculptures and Turned Wood
When given the time and inspiration, we get creative making decorative art out of wood. From turned objects, like bowls to bespoke items, carved by chainsaw or by hand. Check back now and then and see what appears or make contact now and we will let you know when finished pieces are available.
